Yet romantic involvement between employees is loaded with dangers for both the employees and for their employer. Many companies tried to ban dating among their employees. Most have since abandoned that plan, because of legal restrictions and recognition of the inevitable. Instead most now try to restrict such activities that are harmful to the business. Today’s workplace has become the number one place to engage in extra martial affairs. What use to be inconceivable is rapidly becoming somewhat of an epidemic. 20 years ago infidelity in the workplace was highly uncommon. The separation between the sexes that once existed is almost obsolete. This leaves the office as the modern day version of a singles bar. In numerous surveys it is found that on average over 60% of people confess to sex with a coworker. Why has the workplace turned from strictly business to opportunity and temptation? The environment of the office is built around teamwork, co-workers share common goals. Gone are the days of supervisory male and female subordinate affairs. More men and women find themselves as peers, working on assignments or projects with unavoidable closeness. The intent of infidelity is usually not the case. Actually quite the contrary. The men and women who get caught up in an office romance more often then not have a happy home life and a wonderful marriage. When working in such close contact emotional attachment is a natural offshoot. What starts as a coffee break or lunch to discuss the current project tends to become more frequent. These outtings often lead to sharing more personal information about oneself. There becomes a deeper connection regarding both work and personal life. The bond has been made.

After waiting for several minutes, the door opens, and the female participant (MANAGER) enters the office. CANDIDATE notices that she is an attractive, middle-aged woman who moves with the grace, style and confidence of a powerful woman. MANAGER walks across the room and takes a seat behind her desk, opposite CANDIDATE. CANDIDATE hands his resume across the desk and begins to speak to MANAGER. MANAGER simply places a finger against her lips, bidding him to be quiet. CANDIDATE is silenced by the action. MANAGER opens a file and removes an employment application, and begins to read through it thoroughly, looking up now and then underneath her glasses at CANDIDATE. MANAGER eyes CANDIDATE thoughtfully, and while she feigns reading his application and resume, she is secretly beginning to fantasize what it would be like to have this particular young man sexually. MANAGER notices that the young man is wearing a wedding ring, and smiles secretly to herself, knowing that this is just a minor inconvenience that has never stopped her before. MANAGER knows full well that CANDIDATE is more than qualified for the position that he seeks, and decides to hire him, provided that he is willing to demonstrate that he has what it takes to satisfy her, sexually speaking of course...
